LEt's GO 'Toy-Yachting' !

Today is the Golden Anniversary of possibly the most famous toy in the world - LEGO !

I'm sure all of us at some point of our childhood and even adulthood have always fancied putting these cute and colorful blocks together and creating something out these tiny nothings. Right from rustic-looking toys from the Prehistoric and Barbaric period to fancy and well-lit toys of sci-fi and space-age periods, they have always held our fascination and will continue to do so always.

For information - LEGO started as a wooden toy manufacturer in the year 1932 in Denmark and the name is a fusion of the Danish words 'LEg' and 'GOdt'.

LEGO IN WATER

LEGO even makes an extensive line-up of toys that are meant to be used in water or are replicas of what runs in the waters of the real world in their portfolio.

On looking at some of these contraptions, it is simply wonderful how these shapes and colors converge from joining these small bricks and pieces. A mast there and a flag here are like the topping of the cake and make the toy absolutely desirous.

From toy series' that include 'Viking Boat against the Wyvern Dragon', Fireboat, a super-yacht in its bricky entirety to under-the-sea types like a 'Crab Crusher' and a 'Deep Sea Treasure Hunter'...all can be your prized possessions thanks to LEGO.

THE LEGO FIREBOAT

One of LEGOS best off-the-shelf water toys is the Fireboat. Complete with its set of firefighters and a winch to lower the rescue craft this is as scaled-down you can get to the real thing. Or you would wish that why dont they make the same thing in a scaled-up version so that you would be enthused to become a 'sea fire-fighter'.

With its real working motor, the LEGO City Fireboat races to the rescue! This big fire-fighting boat really floats and moves on water and features lots of authentic details like a water cannon, emergency lights and pilot controls to help you put out the “blaze”.

LEGOLAND

From simple toys in their range of toys, LEGO takes it one step ahead by offering rides and experiences in fully functional 'toys' in LEGOLANDs located in different parts of the world. The ones in Denmark, California, Germany and UK offer both underwater experiences like submersibles and toy-fishes to above water rides in hovercrafts apart from their huge array of land and sky toys.

Here's wishing LEGO many decades more of enlightening ours and our childrens' lives with their life-like toys and more...
